What if you could consciously take the helm of your own body and mind — even in the face of fear, discomfort, or distraction? That’s exactly what we explore in this powerful 2-hour workshop.
Originally developed for the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program at Bella Prāṇa Wellness Collective in Tampa, Florida, Controlling The Body and Mind is a deep, practical dive into what becomes possible when we truly master ourselves through breath, focus, and intentional withdrawal of the senses.
If Wim Hof — the Iceman known for extreme cold exposure and breath mastery — were a sword-swallowing yogi with decades of performance experience under his belt, this would be his workshop.
Why This Workshop Exists
In yoga philosophy, Patanjali’s Eight Limbs outline a complete path toward self-realization. Most people are familiar with the physical practice (Asana) and breathwork (Pranayama). But the real game-changer often comes at the fifth limb: Pratyahara — the conscious withdrawal of the senses.
Pratyahara is the bridge between the outer and inner worlds. It’s the skill of drawing your attention inward so completely that external noise, fear, pain, or distraction no longer controls you. Instead, you create space between stimulus and reaction. You become the calm commander of your own experience.
As a full-time entertainer who has swallowed swords (Guinness World Record style), breathed fire, and performed thousands of high-stakes shows, I’ve had to develop this ability at a visceral level. When a 20-inch blade is sliding down your throat, there is zero room for panic, scattered thoughts, or uncontrolled reflexes. Your mind and body must work as one — perfectly focused, perfectly calm.
That same discipline translates directly to yoga, meditation, daily life, and any pursuit that demands presence under pressure.
What You’ll Experience in This Workshop
This isn’t just a lecture. It’s a hands-on, experiential deep dive filled with powerful exercises that break down the barriers keeping you from deeper practice.
You’ll learn practical techniques to:
Strengthen the mind-body connection through targeted breath and focus drills
Practice Pratyahara in real time — gently withdrawing from external distractions and turning inward
Face fear and resistance with curiosity and even joy (instead of avoidance)
Build the mental resilience that allows you to stay present when your body wants to react
Explore simple but profound exercises that show just how much control is actually available to you
Students often describe the workshop as eye-opening, empowering, and surprisingly fun. One participant shared that learning to “face fear with curiosity and even joy” completely shifted how she approaches challenges on and off the mat. Another noted how the work helped her understand the subtle flows of energy in her body and mind in ways she had never experienced before.
Roni Elissabeth Harris, founder of Bella Prāṇa, has invited me back year after year because the students leave in awe — inspired, more resilient, and equipped with tools they can actually use in their teaching and personal practice.

The path of the yogi — and the path of the performer — is the same at its core: master yourself, and you master your experience of life.
I look forward to sharing these tools with you.
