eJuggle Reviewed “Off Course On Purpose” the Audiobook!

The International Jugglers' Association's magazine, eJuggle, has reviewed my book Off Course On Purpose, and the review was written by the editor-in-chief himself, Eric Shibuya.
He calls it a story of “success despite adversity, of constantly moving forward and never giving up,” and he gave the review a headline pulled straight from the book: “If I fail, let it be because I wasn't good enough, not because I didn't sacrifice enough.” That sentence cost me a lot of years to earn the right to say. Seeing it at the top of a review in the magazine of my own community is a moment I won't forget soon.
Overall, he really liked it. He had a few notes, the honest craft kind, and I'll apply them to any future revisions. But the review was very positive, and he presented the book as a welcome addition to the library of juggling.
What he saw in the book is what I hoped was in it.
Yes, it's my story, out of school at 18 with no diploma, essentially homeless, learning to juggle and building Team Rootberry with Jonathan Root all the way to the 2003 IJA Championships.
But he also saw the other story running underneath it: a community that renders assistance to its own.
His closing example is Owen Morse of the Passing Zone, telling two hungry young jugglers over dinner not to buy into the idea that it's a competition, because there's plenty of work for all of us.
He ends by saying he looks forward to the next volume. It's coming.
